PSCE present at CCW 2025 edition

Growing interest and focus on EUCCS

Public Safety Communication Europe attended Critical Communications World 2025 in Brussels from June 17-19. Each year, this forum brings together experts, companies, and key players in public safety, critical IT communications, and industry. The event, co-organized with ASTRID, the Belgian national operator radio communications for emergency and security services, was a great success, thanks to the number of exhibitors and visitors. It allowed us to witness the dynamic nature of the sector, showcase the latest innovations, and learn from user feedback.

This was the ideal opportunity for us to present two key projects covering the field of secure communications: EUCCS Preparation (building a pan-European critical communications network improving resilience across the continent) and FIDAL (developing an advanced open infrastructure for rapid prototyping and validation of Beyond 5G applications in the fields of media, civil protection, and disasters). PSCE also had its own dedicated stand in the Partners’ Village. We had the pleasure of interacting with visitors and exhibitors interested in these two EU security projects.

As coordinator of the EUCCS Preparation project, PSCE had the opportunity to highlight the technical complement provided by the project to contribute to achieving the European Commission’s ambitious political objective. PSCE was thus able to engage in constructive discussions with key stakeholders, industrial partners, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the European Commission.

The four contractors for the EUCCS Preparation public procurement contract—Airbus, Frequentis, Leonardo, and Teltronic—for the supply, deployment, and operational use of Mission Critical Services (MCX) compliant with 3GPP standards were also present.

The Chair of the Technical Validation Committee, Sanja Holen, also presented the project’s progress, both technically and operationally. The importance of testing future MCX services with users to ensure their needs are fully addressed complements the technical evaluation of solutions and is a key point.

These discussions over the three days reinforced the importance of coordinated action and public-private collaboration for the development of a robust pan-European critical communications infrastructure.

PSCE is pleased to support the EU’s ambition to establish a secure, interoperable, and ready-to-use communications network by 2030.
